Site Coordinator

STEAM:CODERS, a nonprofit that teaches underrepresented middle and high school students science, technology, engineering, art and math (STEAM), is seeking talented Site Coordinators to manage on-site operations. Are you prepared to put your leadership skills to use for a good cause? If so, STEAM:CODERS is looking for experienced, dedicated and talented people.

STEAM:CODERS offers classes (coding, robotics, etc.) after-school and on Saturday mornings, in 8-10 week sessions. Site Coordinators are required to arrive at least thirty (30) minutes before class, to set-up the classroom, sign-in students and organize the day’s activities. In addition, Site Coordinators will remain at least 30 minutes after class, to clean up and sign-out students to their parents/guardians. Other duties include (but are not limited to) responding to parent inquiries, arranging for snacks/refreshments, along with providing a safe and clean classroom.

Site Coordinators also provide classroom assistance and supervision, as needed. This position requires a strong work ethic, a passion for STEAM, creativity, punctuality and responsibility. Candidates should possess a can-do attitude, patience, resourcefulness and an attention to detail. Prior experience working with elementary, middle and/or high school students is preferred.

Responsibilities

  • Collaborates with Instructors, Volunteers and STEAM:CODERS Personnel
  • Supports the STEAM:CODERS on-site team and assists with special projects
  • Engages with Instructors, Volunteers, Students & Parents
  • Coordinates Student Sign-in/Sign-out, Snacks/Refreshments
  • Updates collateral materials (i.e., rosters, fact sheets, brochures, etc.)
  • Administers STEAM:CODER surveys to students and/or parents
  • Helps Assess program needs and/or other evaluation projects

Qualifications

  • Prior experience preferred (especially with middle and/or high school students)
  • Excellent Communication Skills (speaking and writing)
  • Ability to think creatively and analytically
  • Computer proficiency with Microsoft Office Suite (Word, Excel and PowerPoint)
  • Ability to ask questions, take coaching and direction, and be a friendly & positive presence
  • Candidates will be required to undergo a background check (i.e., LiveScan)
